SHARE THE MINI LOVE.

The thing you might find when you’re a MINI owner, is everyone’s keen to try out your car. Whether it’s a family member, housemate or even a colleague, you can now share your MINI with up to 10 other drivers. MINI Sharing is our flexible peer-to-peer car sharing service that allows you to open up your MINI when you’re not using it. All through our intuitive app. Your chosen friends and family will even be able to start up and head off through the smartphone app. It’s just that simple.

EASY ACCESS, NO KEYS REQUIRED.

Each driver will be able to access a digital key that not only unlocks the car, but guides you to where it’s parked too. You’ll be able to get in, start up the engine and head off simply using your smartphone. It’s all done through the MINI Sharing app, which communicates via Bluetooth® wireless technology with a MINI Sharing module fitted in the car.

1 MINI 10 DRIVERS.

Get ready to win some serious popularity points. Because MINI Sharing lets you invite up to ten family members, friends or colleagues to share your car. They’ll become fellow MINI drivers, with access to book and drive your MINI through the app. The shared calendar shows each driver when there’s a free slot, and gives them access when it’s their turn. But make note, the owner is responsible for making sure each driver is properly insured.

A MINI WHEN YOU NEED ONE.

As the owner, each booking request will come to you. Your selected drivers can make an enquiry in a few short clicks. And if your MINI’s free, you can accept to grant them access and show them where it’s parked. It’s all displayed through the smartphone app. And for those extra special friends, you can grant VIP status to allow them to book straight away without waiting for confirmation.

BRING IT ON HOME.

Handing the MINI back is also managed via the app. When their trip is finished, drivers will need to bring the MINI back to its Home Area, which is set up by the owner. The Home Area is defined by a radius of 300m around the selected address entered by the owner. A trip can finish outside of this area – if that happens the driver and owner will be notified. Once it’s parked up and locked via the app, MINI Sharing will create a summary of the journey.

HOW IT WORKS.

To get started you’ll need the MINI Sharing app, which works with almost any smartphone and can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play Store*. The app will communicate via Bluetooth® wireless technology with the MINI Sharing module inside the car, which can be fitted to any MINI built after 03/21 via aftersales or Port-Of-Entry.

HOW MUCH IS MINI SHARING?

Get set up with MINI Sharing for £340. It’s available to order directly on new MINI’s through the Port-Of-Entry program, or via MINI Aftersales. The price includes the module, installation and a year’s subscription (extended subscriptions will then be charged at £40 per year). However, some retailers may charge for fitting.

LET’S GET STARTED.

Get ready to start sharing in three simple steps.

Install your MINI Sharing module. This will need to be done by your MINI Centre, who can retrofit it to any built after March 2021. As soon as it’s fitted you can add your MINI to your account.
Download the MINI Sharing app from the App Store or Google Play. Once that’s done you can sign in and set up, before asking your chosen drivers to make sure they get the app too.
Start sharing. Pick up to 10 other drivers to share the MINI joy with.
